Hypereosinophilic Disorders
Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell pictured to the left. They play an important role in many allergic and immunologic diseases in humans. In these disorders there are an excessive number of eosinophils in the bloodstream and/or in tissues such as the esophogus, the skin, the gastrointestinal tract or the lungs. Allergist/Immunologist recieve specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders.
